PlayStation Overview
PlayStation

The PlayStation is a home video game console released by Sony in December 1994. It is abbreviated as "PS". It was the game console that triggered the change from Nintendo's monopoly to a two-power situation.

The use of CD-ROMs as a medium has greatly improved game expression by making it possible to create games with nearly 100 times the capacity of ROM cassettes.

The 3DO, NeoGeo CD, and Saturn were all released in the same year as game consoles with CD-ROMs, but the PS won the competition. The fact that hit titles such as Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest were transferred from Nintendo to Sony was also a big story.

PlayStation Emulator Overview

More than 20 years have passed since its initial development, making it highly complete. Even an integrated graphics, it is possible to express more than the actual device.

Until around the 2010s, ePSXe was by far the most popular PS emulator, but when DuckStation was released around 2020, it gained a strong following due to its functionality and accuracy.

Some emus will work without a BIOS, but it is more accurate to set up a BIOS.

Despite being a latecomer among PS emulators, it has done very well in terms of both accuracy and functionality.

Changing the setting items "Internal Resolution Scale" and "Texture Filtering" will change the rendering to very smooth.

It also offers various functions such as game list view, settings management for each game, gamepad assignment of hotkeys, rewind, rapid fire, etc.

The built-in BIOS eliminates the need for a separate BIOS.

Although the original PCSX has been discontinued, development is currently underway on a fork called PCSX Redux.

PCSX Redux eliminates the plug-in method and has a completely redesigned interface for easier handling.
